“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one” C.S. Lewis

Organizational Basics

NW S.P.A.R.K. was organized to help support parents and families of children with disabilities in the NW Suburbs of Minneapolis. Our group includes parents assisting their special kids adapt with Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech and vision issues, Down Syndrome, seizure disorders, CP, Spina Bifida, and more. Join us on our journey to SPARK the enthusiasm of families and guide them in finding the resources that are available in our community.

We believe it is necessary for families with children with special educational needs to get together and share their experiences, knowledge, and resources. Gaining information from one another, supporting, and guiding each other along the way, we can SPARK a light within each other and help provide direction for our children.

Organizational Scope

Our hope is to use this website to educate and empower families with special needs children. We are committed to getting the word out on upcoming parent networking groups and keynote speakers, providing links to Handke Library publications and other online resources, and offering an NW SPARK Parents group on YAHOO! for parents to share a wealth of knowledge from prior experience or ask others for their take on a current situation.
